Biography

Soloist of the "Helikon-Opera" theatre.

Aleksandr Kiselev was born in Chelyabinsk, graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He is the winner of the International Vocal Festival in Johannesburg (1995), the winner of the Chaliapin Prize of the Glinka International Festival of Vocalists (1995), a finalist of the Placido Domingo Competition “Operalia-1996”, the winner of the International Vocal Competition in the Bolshoi Theatre (1997), the Tchaikovsky International Competition (1998), the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation International Vocal Competition (2003). He was awarded the Medal of the International Charitable Foundation “Metsenaty Stoletiya”. Since 1994 Aleksandr has been a soloist of the Moscow Theatre “Novaya Opera”. He was a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre (1995–1998), a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre (1998–2006). In 2000 he made his debut in Helikon-Opera. He participated in the play “Nabucco” by G. Verdi in Bertman’s production (France, 2004). As a guest soloist he sang on the stages of the Mariinsky Theatre (Saint-Petersburg), the Deutsche Oper (Berlin, Germany), the L’Opéra national du Rhin (France), the Canadian Opera Company. Aleksandr appeared at the festival “The Praguer Autumn” (The Czech Republic), the Belgrade Music Festival (Serbia). In 2011 he took part in the concert performance of “Medea” by L. Cherubini in the Carnegie Hall (USA).

With the Decree of the Mayor of Moscow № 1-UM from 21.01.2016 for the great investment to the development of culture and long-term fruitful activities Alexander Kiselev was titled "The Honoured Worker of Arts of the City of Moscow".
