French Music Night

The French conductor Clément Nonciaux makes his debut at the RNYSO console. In 2022, he won the 2nd prize at the 1st International Rachmaninov Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors in Moscow. This March, a few days after the Moscow concert, he is taking part in the prestigious Donatella Flick International Conducting Competition in London, where he will direct the London Symphony Orchestra.

Under the guidance of maestro the RNYSO will perform masterpieces of French composers — the fantastic scherzo "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" by Paul Dukas, the First Cello Concerto by Camille Saint-Saens, the prelude "Afternoon of a Faun" by Claude Debussy, the suite from the ballet "Daphnis and Chloe" by Maurice Ravel and his famous Bolero. The times when it was believed that the music of a particular country is best performed by its representative, are now a thing of the past; nevertheless, the opportunity to hear the music of France in the interpretation of a bearer of traditions is always attractive to the public.

Narek Hakhnazaryan (cello) will perform as a soloist in the Saint-Saens concerto; in 2011, the musician won the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, which marked the beginning of his brilliant career, marked by performances with most of the world's largest conductors and orchestras.
