RNYSO is 6 years old
On September 10, 2024, the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 6th anniversary in the best artistic traditions - on stage. Exactly six years ago, the ensemble held its first rehearsal, and today it is giving its 279th concert - at the Irkutsk Regional Musical Theater named after N. M. Zagursky as part of the XIX International Music Festival "Stars on Baikal". At the RNMSO's conductor's stand is Ivan Nikiforchin, a brilliant young conductor who recently headed the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra.
The performance program is distinguished by its stylistic and genre breadth: arias from the operas of Donizetti, Puccini and Tchaikovsky (performed by the soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Sergei Skorokhodov) coexist with the symphonic masterpiece of Rimsky-Korsakov "Capriccio Espagnol" and famous instrumental concertos of German classics. In Mendelssohn's First Piano Concerto, the soloist is 12-year-old pianist, laureate of international competitions (including the Grand Piano Competition) Varvara Zarudneva, and in the large-scale Beethoven Triple Concerto, a truly stellar cast of soloists will perform - artistic director of the "Stars on Baikal" festival Denis Matsuev (piano), RNMSO concertmaster Elena Tarosyan (violin) and Alexander Ramm (cello).
