Fifth All-Russian Competition for Symphony Orchestra Artists
On November 23, RNMSO will perform in the Tchaikovsky Hall with the star of the world opera scene - Aida Garifullina. The special guest of the program is the soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, baritone Boris Pinkhasovich. Haozhan Li, laureate of the 1st Rachmaninov International Competition, will take over the orchestra.
On the stage of the Tchaikovsky Hall, the singer will appear in different, sometimes unexpected roles. Among the works that have long brought Garifullina worldwide recognition and public love are Musetta's Waltz from Puccini's La bohème, Mermaid's Aria from Dvorak's opera of the same name, Violetta's scene and aria from Verdi's La Traviata, Schubert's Ave Maria. She will also perform romances by Rachmaninov and Rimsky-Korsakov, Elena's Polonaise from the zarzuela "The Barber of Seville" by Jimenez, "Spanish Bolero" by Delibes and, in addition, she will appear as Floria Tosca from Puccini's opera.
Together with Boris Pinkhasovich, Aida Garifullina will perform duets from the opera Don Giovanni by Mozart and the operetta The Merry Widow by Lehar. The Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform orchestral excerpts from operas by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Puccini, Mascagni.
